Alex Cooper Is Pregnant, Expecting First Baby With Husband Matt Kaplan

Alex Cooper announced her pregnancy with husband Matt Kaplan via Instagram on May 17, sharing details of their supportive relationship. The report also notes numerous other celebrity births in recent months.

Alex Cooper, the popular host of the podcast Call Her Daddy, has announced that she is expecting her first child with her husband, Matt Kaplan. The news broke through a series of Instagram posts shared on May 17, where Cooper displayed her growing baby bump in a carousel of photos captioned simply, “Our family.” In the images, Kaplan sits in a chair with his back to the camera while Cooper, dressed in flowy white pants and a matching crop top, perches on the armrest with one hand resting tenderly on her stomach.

The couple’s journey to this moment began in 2020 during a Zoom call that sparked their romance. Cooper initially kept the relationship private, referring to Kaplan as “Mr. Sexy Zoom Man” until their engagement in 2023. They married in a low-key beachside ceremony in Riviera Maya, Mexico, in 2024. “It was everything we wanted it to be,” Cooper, 31, told Vogue at the time. “It was emotional, heartfelt, and we tailored it to exactly how we always envisioned it.”

Kaplan, 42, a Hollywood producer, took on most of the wedding planning duties, allowing Cooper to remain relatively stress-free. She credited him heavily, noting that he handled the heavy lifting while she focused on her custom Danielle Frankel wedding dress. Their relationship has been marked by mutual support, particularly during a challenging health scare four years ago when Cooper contracted HPV from a prior encounter.

In an August 2024 episode of her podcast, Cooper opened up about sharing the news with Kaplan. “At this point, Matt and I were starting to get serious and we were dating, and for the first time—it just sucked, because I could really envision a future with a man,” she recalled. “I think I was scared to vocalize one of my biggest fears, which was the possibility that this mistake I made years ago was going to impact my fertility.” Kaplan responded with understanding and support, and after treatment, Cooper tested HPV negative six months later.

Cooper emphasized the importance of having a partner who stands by you regardless. “You know you have the right partner ladies, when they don’t give a f--k. And they are just there to support you and love you and it doesn’t matter,” she said. The couple’s announcement comes amid a wave of celebrity births reported in recent months, highlighting a busy period for new parents in the entertainment industry.
