Beanie Feldstein feels "so lucky" to become a parent soon and reveals sex of her baby

Beanie Feldstein revealed on CBS Mornings that she and her wife are expecting a baby girl, their first child and the first granddaughter in the family. She also discussed her upcoming children's book focused on friendship.

Beanie Feldstein announced on Tuesday that she and her wife Bonnie-Chance Roberts are expecting their first child, a baby girl. The 32-year-old actress and Broadway star shared the news during an appearance on CBS Mornings, where co-host Gayle King asked about recent photos of the couple dressed in pink.

"It's a girl baby," Feldstein said. She noted that the child will be the first granddaughter in the family. Her brother, actor Jonah Hill, already has two sons.

Feldstein, who became an aunt at age 13, expressed excitement about the upcoming arrival. "I feel so lucky" to become a parent soon, she told viewers. She added that she thinks "you learn so much from watching everyone in your family parent."

The actress has past experience working with children, including as a nanny. As she prepares for motherhood, Feldstein said she is most looking forward to the unique bond that forms between a parent and child. "The way that … a child reaches for their parent in a different way than their caretaker of another sort," she explained.

"I'm so honored to be one of the two people she reaches for," Feldstein continued. The couple has not shared further details about the due date or other aspects of the pregnancy at this time.

In addition to preparing for parenthood, Feldstein is set to release her first children's book, titled "Teeny and Tillie." The story centers on the power of friendship and the early choices children make about who they spend time with.

"At the beginning we are so in charge of where they go and what they do and how their day is structured, and then all of a sudden their first real choices in life is like who am I going to spend my time with, who am I going to talk to on the playground, who am I going down the slide with," Feldstein said. "Friendship is so powerful. Even just talking to one person can lead to a lifelong friendship and that's the story I wanted to tell."

Feldstein has built a career across television, film, and theater, with notable performances that have earned her widespread recognition. Her upcoming book marks a new creative direction as she balances professional projects with family life.

According to the interview, the family has a strong history of supporting one another through various stages of life. Feldstein reflected on the lessons she has absorbed from relatives who are already parents.

Officials and representatives for the actress have not issued additional statements beyond the CBS Mornings appearance. The announcement comes as Feldstein continues to work on multiple fronts in entertainment and now literature.

Viewers and fans reacted positively to the news shared on the morning program, with many sending congratulations to the couple online. Feldstein and Roberts have kept much of their personal life private in recent years.

The couple's decision to reveal the baby's sex during the television segment highlighted their joy ahead of the birth. Feldstein emphasized the honor she feels in becoming one of the primary figures in her daughter's life.

As the release of "Teeny and Tillie" approaches, Feldstein has spoken about the themes she hopes will resonate with young readers. The book explores how early friendships shape childhood experiences.

Family members, including her brother Jonah Hill, have not yet commented publicly on the pregnancy announcement. The news positions Feldstein to welcome the newest member of a well-known Hollywood family.
