Fest recounted purchasing and disassembling an Everest Max to check for patent issues, unaware at the time that he would later work with Brinkmann.
"At that point, I had no idea who Tobias was. Now, a few years later, he’s heading up our gaming business," Fest said. Brinkmann, reflecting on the timeline, joked, “I’m personally grateful that it took Corsair so long, and they couldn’t get it together.” He credited their shared German backgrounds for easing collaboration, adding, “It helps that Julian and I both have German backgrounds, and we kind of like each other. So that makes it easier to do it.” Fest quipped back, “I’d still do it if you were an asshole.”
This partnership underscores the Galleon's depth of customization, honed over nearly eight years of Stream Deck software refinement. The original Stream Deck concept traces back to Art Lebedev’s ambitious Optimus keyboard, which Elgato adapted into a more affordable standalone device in 2017.
