Donald Trump Jr. married model Bettina Anderson in a private ceremony in the Bahamas on May 23, marking the start of a new chapter for the eldest son of President Donald Trump after two years of dating. The couple had already held a private wedding in West Palm Beach, Florida, on May 21, according to a marriage license obtained by People magazine.
Bettina shared the news on Instagram Stories with a black-and-white photo of the pair holding hands to display their wedding bands. "Forever yours," she wrote. "Forever mine @donaldjtrumpjr." Guests at the Bahamas event included Donald Jr.'s siblings Eric Trump, Tiffany Trump, and Ivanka Trump.
Weeks earlier, Bettina hosted an "enchanted garden"-themed bridal shower at Mar-a-Lago. "Still soaking in how beautiful and special Sunday was," she posted on Instagram on April 15. "To be surrounded by so many women I love and admire, and feel so grateful to have in my corner, meant more than I can say." She also thanked her wedding party for an "elegant, and love-filled day" and expressed excitement ahead of the nuptials, writing, "@donaldjtrumpjr I cannot wait to marry you!"
The couple went public with their relationship in December 2024 during her birthday celebration in Palm Beach, Florida. They later appeared together at events tied to President Trump's inauguration. Nearly a year into the relationship, President Trump announced the engagement during a White House holiday party on Dec. 15.
In a video shared on X, Donald Jr., 48, addressed the crowd about the engagement. "It's not often that I'm at a loss for words, 'cause we usually do the ranting and raving really well," he said. "But this is a little different. But I just want to wish you guys an incredible holiday season, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year. And to thank Bettina for that one word, 'yes.'" He described the engagement as a "big win for the end of the year" before handing the mic to his then-fiancée.
Bettina responded, "This has really been the most unforgettable weekend of my life. And I get to marry the love of my life. And I just feel like the luckiest girl in the world." Donald Jr. was previously engaged to Kimberly Guilfoyle before their 2024 breakup and has five children with ex-wife Vanessa Trump: Kai, 19; Donald III, 17; Tristan, 14; Spencer, 13; and Chloe, 11.
The Bahamas ceremony followed a series of other high-profile weddings reported this year. Country singer Lainey Wilson married former NFL quarterback Devlin "Duck" Hodges on May 10 in an outdoor Tennessee ceremony that she described to Vogue as her "absolute dream ceremony," noting a small waterfall behind the altar.
Al Roker confirmed on the Today show that his daughter Leila married Sylvain Gricourt in a small Paris ceremony in May. "Our daughter, Leila, is getting married, just before Mother's Day," he said. Steven Kreuger and Candice King eloped in Nashville in February while expecting their first child, with Candice telling Vogue the moment felt like "our own little secret."
Other unions included former Playboy model Crystal Harris and James Ward in the Cook Islands on April 2, Chaz Bono and Sara Blue Mathes in Los Angeles on March 8, and Dance Moms alum Brooke Hyland with Brian Thalman on Feb. 21. Stranger Things actress Maya Hawke wed Christian Lee Hutson in New York City on Valentine's Day, Feb. 14.
Vanna White announced on Instagram that she married longtime partner John Donaldson on Jan. 21 in a private ceremony. "Surprise! We got married!" she wrote. "John and I have been in love for more than a decade." Additional weddings involved Love Is Blind alum Iyanna McNeely and attorney Alexander Lewis in Chicago on Jan. 17, ABC News correspondent Will Reeve and Amanda Dubin in Miami on the same date, and comedian Joel Kim Booster with John-Michael Sudsina in San Francisco on Jan. 14.
Miss World America 2020 winner Alissa Anderegg married Win Gruber in New York City on Jan. 3. "We've already grown so much as a couple," Anderegg told People. "We are an amazing team, and we're so excited to continue to grow together for the rest of our lives."
The Trump-Anderson nuptials come amid a busy period for celebrity weddings, with reports indicating several private ceremonies held across the U.S. and abroad in early 2025. Officials have not released further details on the Bahamas event beyond what was shared by attendees and social media posts.
