Victor Wembanyama scores 33 as Spurs dominate Thunder in Game 4 to even Western Conference Finals

The San Antonio Spurs defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 103-82 in Game 4 to even the Western Conference Finals at 2-2. Victor Wembanyama scored 33 points in the victory.

The San Antonio Spurs evened the Western Conference Finals at two games apiece with a decisive 103-82 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 4 on Sunday night at Frost Bank Center.

Victor Wembanyama led the way with 33 points on 11-of-22 shooting, including three three-pointers, while adding eight rebounds, five assists and three blocks. The performance helped San Antonio overcome a Thunder team that had looked dominant in Game 3.

The Spurs improved to 2-2 in the best-of-seven series, setting up a pivotal Game 5 on Tuesday night in Oklahoma City. Both teams have now won on their home floors, and the next two games will determine which side carries momentum into a potential Game 6.

Defense proved decisive for San Antonio. The Thunder, who shot 44.7 percent from three-point range in their Game 3 win, managed just 6 of 33 attempts from beyond the arc on Sunday, finishing at 18 percent. Their overall field-goal percentage dropped to 33 percent as the Spurs forced 20 turnovers and scored 25 points off those mistakes.

San Antonio also took advantage at the free-throw line, attempting 32 foul shots compared with 18 for Oklahoma City. The Spurs converted enough of those opportunities to build a double-digit lead by halftime and push it to 25 points late in the third quarter.

Wembanyama’s efficiency stood out in a game where both teams struggled from the perimeter. San Antonio made only 9 of 33 three-pointers but compensated with strong interior play and transition scoring. Stephon Castle added 13 points, six assists and three rebounds, while Devin Vassell matched Castle’s scoring total and grabbed six boards.

De’Aaron Fox contributed 12 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in the starting lineup. Six bench players reached the scoring column for the Spurs, with Dylan Harper posting seven points and five rebounds in a reserve role.

For the Thunder, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander shot just 6 of 15 from the field but went 7 of 7 from the free-throw line. He finished with 19 points, seven assists and four turnovers. Bench contributors Aaron Wiggins and Jared McCain combined to shoot 3 of 21 from the field and scored only eight points between them.

The Thunder’s inability to replicate their long-range success from earlier in the series allowed San Antonio to control the tempo after an early nine-point lead in the first quarter. The Spurs extended that advantage to double digits by halftime and never looked back.

Game 5 is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday at Paycor Center in Oklahoma City. The winner of that contest will hold a 3-2 series lead heading into Game 6, which would return to San Antonio if necessary.

Both teams have shown they can win convincingly at home, making the upcoming matchup in Oklahoma City a critical test of whether the Thunder can regain their shooting touch on their own floor.
