Why Bre Tiesi 'Would Never Allow' Nick Cannon to Appear on Selling Sunset

Bre Tiesi has firmly stated that she would never allow Nick Cannon to appear on Selling Sunset due to past disrespectful treatment by the show. In an exclusive interview, she discussed her growing comfort in sharing personal aspects of her life while maintaining strict boundaries around her relationship and family.

Bre Tiesi, a star on the Netflix reality series Selling Sunset, has made it clear that her partner, Nick Cannon, will not be making any appearances on the show, citing past disrespectful treatment as her primary reason.

In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly, Tiesi, 33, emphatically stated her position on the matter. “No. I would never subject [Nick] to that. I will never subject him to a show that did not show him an ounce of respect or grace,” she said. Tiesi added that even a substantial financial incentive wouldn't sway her. “I don’t care if they said they’d give him $100 million. I would say, ‘Not a f***ing chance in hell.’ I definitely hold a grudge, so I would never subject him to that.”

The real estate agent, who joined the cast of Selling Sunset in 2023, has been gradually opening up about her personal life on the series. However, she draws a firm line when it comes to involving Cannon, 45, the comedian and television host known for his large family and multiple relationships. Tiesi and Cannon share a son, Legendary, born in June 2022, and their unconventional relationship has been a point of discussion since her debut on the show.

Tiesi's reluctance stems from experiences during her early seasons on Selling Sunset. She mentioned an ongoing feud with co-star Chelsea Lazkani, who questioned Tiesi's relationship with Cannon on screen. This led to tense moments that Tiesi felt did not portray Cannon fairly. “The crazy part is that he would do it. He would be nice enough to do it if that’s what I wanted. That’s what I love about him. But it’s a hard no for me, because they have tried,” Tiesi told Us Weekly.

Selling Sunset, which premiered on Netflix in 2019, follows the professional and personal lives of real estate agents at the Oppenheim Group in Los Angeles. The series has gained popularity for its mix of high-stakes property deals, interpersonal drama, and glimpses into the cast's glamorous lifestyles. Tiesi's addition to the show in season 6 brought fresh dynamics, including discussions about her non-traditional family structure with Cannon, who has fathered 12 children with six different women.

In her interview, Tiesi reflected on her initial hesitation to share personal details. “My first two seasons, I did not trust production. I didn’t want it. Now we’ve gotten over that and I’m slowly feeling a little bit more comfortable introducing my real life because it is controversial,” she explained. Tiesi emphasized the importance of boundaries, particularly regarding her child and relationship. “People do have strong opinions on how I live my life and my child. I was very cautious of that. I had to build that relationship and trust our production. Because I had to know that things that I really care about are going to be protected and they’re never going to be used in any other way than exactly how it happens.”

She continued to stress the need for respect in how her story is handled. “Those are the things that I draw boundaries for. I understand featuring everything with the girls and all the other drama — whatever makes the show good. But when it comes to my real life, if you really want to see that then it needs to be respected and protected. Five seasons in, I finally feel comfortable and I can do that,” Tiesi said.

Tiesi's comments come as the show prepares for its potential season 10, with seasons 1 through 9 currently streaming on Netflix. The series has evolved over the years, incorporating more personal narratives alongside the real estate focus. For Tiesi, season 9 allowed her to showcase aspects of her life beyond the drama. “Nobody knows me. Everybody thinks they know me and they think that because I can rip a bitch apart that that’s the only characteristic that I have. That’s not how I truly live my life. I spend 99 percent of the time with my son,” she shared.

“We’re outdoorsy people and I have a full farm. I spend my time gardening with my son and I spend my time doing things that people would never think that I do. I’m in full mommy mode. I don’t live my life fighting with people all day. It’s just funny because I have real hobbies and real-life stuff that never gets shown. So there’s so much more to it too that hopefully I get to show more in season 10.”

This shift toward more authentic portrayals marks a turning point for Tiesi, who has defended her relationship with Cannon amid public scrutiny. Cannon, best known for hosting shows like America's Got Talent and The Masked Singer, has been open about his polyamorous lifestyle. The couple's relationship timeline includes their first meeting years ago, but they reconnected and welcomed their son in 2022. Tiesi has described their arrangement as supportive and non-monogamous, which sparked debates among her co-stars, particularly Lazkani.

In season 6, the feud with Lazkani escalated when Lazkani expressed concerns about Cannon's multiple partnerships, leading to heated exchanges. Tiesi stood her ground, arguing that her choices were personal and valid. According to reports from the show, this conflict highlighted broader themes of judgment and acceptance within the cast. While production has attempted to include Cannon in the past, Tiesi's firm stance suggests those efforts were rebuffed.

Beyond the show, Tiesi and Cannon's dynamic has been covered in various media outlets. Us Weekly has previously detailed their relationship timeline, noting key milestones like the birth of Legendary and public appearances together. Cannon has spoken positively about Tiesi in interviews, praising her as a mother and partner. Despite the controversies, Tiesi appears focused on protecting her family's privacy while selectively sharing on her terms.

The broader implications of Tiesi's decision touch on the challenges reality TV stars face in balancing authenticity with personal boundaries. Selling Sunset has faced criticism in the past for sensationalizing cast members' lives, but it has also been praised for its entertainment value. As the series continues, Tiesi's evolving comfort level could lead to more in-depth explorations of her life, excluding Cannon's direct involvement.

Looking ahead, fans are eager for season 10, which could delve deeper into Tiesi's hobbies and family life, as she hinted. With the show streaming on Netflix, its global audience will likely continue debating the cast's personal choices. For now, Tiesi's grudge against past portrayals ensures that Cannon remains off-screen, preserving what she sees as respect for their relationship.

In the competitive world of reality television, such boundaries underscore the human element behind the drama. As Tiesi navigates her role on Selling Sunset, her story serves as a reminder of the fine line between public persona and private life.
